SINOPSIS: Mike Terry (Ejiofor) es el instructor jefe de la Academia de Jiu-Jitsu Southside. Sin embargo, aunque es un gran luchador, rechaza participar en competiciones profesionales, porque las considera ante todo un síntoma de debilidad. Todo su interés se centra en adiestrar a futuros guardaespaldas, policías y soldados en el arte de la autodefensa. Su vida cambia por completo una noche, en la que salva de una brutal paliza a Chet Frank (Tim Allen), una famosa estrella del cine de acción. Esta circunstancia lo lanza al mundo del cine, y entonces no tendrá más remedio que enfrentarse a lo que siempre había evitado: participar en un campeonato de lucha.
